HISTORY

In 1962,  a young engineer named Paul Walach started Monteray Mfg. Co. with $500 and a new patent for the first "TWIST ADJUST" hydraulic storm door closer.

 

Monteray Mfg. Co. grew quickly to become the preferred supplier of these smooth operating hydraulic cylinders to Sears Roebuck, Montgomery Ward, Ace Hardware, and JC Penny stores across the USA.

After Monteray was sold  in 1969, WALACH Mfg. Co. was formed to fill a need for specialized cylinders engineered exclusively for industrial opening, closing and dampening applications.
